Delivery & Installation

Assembly and installation are included in all of the playset prices shown online providing you have a level, accessible site.  If your site needs work before we arrive, you may want to check with Eli Stoltzfus at Abundant Life Landscaping (484-712-8828) or Gid Stoltzfus at Better Built Pads (717-629-0968).  Please tell us which of the following methods we will need to use to install your swingset.

1. We back the truck and trailer with the playset to the site and offload directly at the site.  This method is preferred and is considered a standard delivery.
2. If the first option is not possible, we can in some cases wheel the playhouse or playset tower unit to the site.  This option is typically used when the access width is less than nine or ten feet (i.e., is not wide enough to allow a truck and trailer to get to the site) but at least five or six feet (i.e., wide enough to allow the playhouse or playset tower purchased to be wheeled back as a unit).  Actual width needed depends on the playset purchased.  We will use this method when necessary at no extra charge to you but do want to know before loading the trailer that this method will be needed.
3. If fences, trees, hills, or other barriers do not allow either of the above options, we can bring the playhouse or playset tower portion of the playset as a kit, carry it to your site in pieces, and assemble it on location.  Since this method is more labor intensive, we need to charge extra for the service.  The amount of the charge depends on the unit(s) being assembled on site.

The basic swingset frame pieces are assembled at the shop (e.g., top rail, end ladder) but the overall swingset frame assembly is normally completed at the site as part of the standard delivery.  Consequently, access is not a major issue for swingsets consisting entirely of frame pieces without a playhouse or playset tower (e.g., a climber playset like the PJL4).  In addition, the wood Cliff Climb playset unit (see PLS and PLC-XA84) needs less access space than many of the other playhouses and playset towers since we deliver it in three sections and do final assembly at the delivery location.

The charge for delivery is based on location.  

1. Montgomery County, Pennsylvania:  no extra charge (free delivery)
2. Bucks County, Pennsylvania:  add $30 for western Bucks County (e.g. Doylestown, Quakertown, Perkasie, Warrington); add $50 or $60 for for eastern, central, and northern Bucks County (e.g. Bristol, Levittown, Fairless Hills, Langhorne, Newtown, Yardley, New Hope, Lahaska)
3. All other delivery locations:
   1. Use www.mapquest.com to determine the miles from Intercourse, Pennsylvania (zip 17534) to your address; use the “Shortest Time” setting under “Routing Options.”
   2. Call or e-mail us for a quote if you are over two hundred twenty-five (225) miles from the Intercourse, Pennsylvania location.  Otherwise continue to "c" below.
   3. Subtract thirty (30) miles from the total found in "a" above (first thirty miles free).
   4. Multiply the above number by $2.20 to determine the delivery charge; add $40 for tolls if going to Long Island, New York.

Long Distance Deliveries

We can deliver and set up playsets in areas well beyond two hundred twenty-five miles from Intercourse, Pennsylvania.  For Los Angeles, California; Phoenix, Arizona; Florida; eastern Texas; and Arkansas we typically arrange for delivery by crews from those areas.  Florida deliveries are available seasonally before Christmas to the middle of February.  Eastern Texas deliveries are done by Golden Rule Gazebos; Arkansas deliveries are done by Tim's Woodcrafts.  We can ship via common carrier as well (you provide the setup, of course).  Contact us for delivery only or delivery and setup costs for your area.

Payment

To activate an order, we need 20% of the order total, including tax and delivery.  Payment may be made by check or credit card; we accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.  Credit card transactions are handled via telephone.  Checks should be written to Lancaster County Backyard LLC and mailed to the contact address (350 Cambridge Road, Narvon, PA  17555-9644).  We will give you a 2% discount if you choose to pay the total order amount with a check or money order at the time of placing the order.

An order may be cancelled for a full refund before the order has been processed at the shop.  The amount of refund after the shop has the order depends on the order itself and the amount of work that has been done on the order at the point of cancellation; the refund is less for orders with a specialized design than fully standard orders.  Refund amounts after the shop has the order vary according to costs involved.

We are required to charge state sales taxes unless you live in a state without sales taxes, you submit a sales tax exempt certificate from your state, or a third party (e.g., common carrier) delivers the product.

We will confirm arrangements for payment of the balance due before the playset is delivered.  If you wish to pay by credit card we normally authorize the payment before delivery, then process the charge when the delivery has been completed.
